If you want to take a more
active part in AIPh’s work, then join a group or you can form one in your
school, community or locality. The local groups are focal points of our
membership activities, particularly for awareness raising, letterwriting,
campaigning and local fundraising.
AIPh has 12 local groups
and more than a hundred individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
As official units of AI,
all groups are expected to:
- observe the AI statute;
- be committed to the vision, mission and core
values and strive to campaign across a range of issues handled by AI;
- observe the decisions of AI's elected governing
bodies;
- ensure political impartiality and independence
in their campaigning;
- operate in an open and independent way;
- aim to attract members from the widest possible
spectrum of society;
- train members in human rights and the work of
AI;
- raise money to support their work and make
contributions to the national movement.
